PELL LAKE -- Authorities are on the scene of a bank robbery in Pell Lake, where employees were locked in the vault.

Officers were dispatched about 10:15 this morning to the First Banking Center, Pell Lake Branch on Park Street.

A customer entered the bank, discovered the employees in the vault and called 911, according to police radio traffic.

Police are looking for a tall, slender white male, 6-foot-3, wearing a blue sweatshirt, dark cargo pants and black leather gloves with holes in them, according to Walworth County Dispatch.

The robber was carrying a bag with lettering on it and he was wearing shiny sunglasses and a western style handkerchief over his face.

No weapons were displayed.

Authorities set up roadblocks on U.S. Highway 12 and were searching vehicles leaving the area.

Maybe someone should realize that just because we live in Pell Lake it does not make us stupid, crazy or indigent. Most of us are hard working people who have lived here for years and like our home. Sorry more of you can't see that.

Never fails. A story about Pell Lake and someone has to make a comment about how terrible the area is. Maybe you should call the Sheriff's and tip them off, there may be a cookie in it for you.
