ELKHORN — The stories of Dr. Seuss are coming alive on stage Friday and Saturday, thanks to the 60-some young people involved in the Summer Elk Players theater group.

Students in seventh through 10th grade perform, while high school juniors and seniors serve as student directors, helping with lighting and sound, said director Jeff Kleist.

“We have students help in every aspect of the show,” Kleist said. “Our scene construction crew helped build and paint our fantastic set.”

This is the 10th production for the group. Chris Ghilani serves as music director and Katie Free serves as choreographer.

“Seussical Jr.” will be staged at 7 p.m. July 30 and July 31 in the auditorium at Elkhorn Area High School. Admission is free, although donations are accepted.
