DELAVAN A Delavan man out on bail while awaiting trial in the 2002 deaths of two men now has been charged with bail jumping after being accused of drinking at a Darien Township strip club.
Chad Lurvey was charged in July 2009 with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, according to online court records.
The bodies of Brian Lazzaro of Mukwonago and Andrew Long of West Milwaukee, both 25, were found in September 2002 in a private lake owned by Lurvey's family.
The two men had been missing since Aug. 24, 2002, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The men were shot multiple times, their necks were cut, and their bodies were wrapped in blankets and chains, according to the criminal complaint.
The bail jumping charge resulted from an incident July 14 in Darien Township.
From the Journal Sentinel :
According to a criminal complaint, Lurvey consumed alcohol at a bar in Darien in Walworth County on July 14, struck a parked vehicle with his pickup truck as he was leaving and fled.
A man told a Walworth County Sheriff's deputy that he saw Lurvey's truck strike his vehicle at the Vegas Gentlemen's Club, the complaint says.
Another deputy went to Lurvey's residence in Delavan and found him sleeping in the truck, the complaint says.
Lurvey at first denied being at the bar, but authorities said a surveillance camera at the bar shows Lurvey ordering a drink, taking a drink and then leaving the bar at 1:39 a.m. July 14, the complaint says.
As conditions of his bail in the homicide case, Lurvey, 36, was prohibited from consuming alcohol and committing any law violation.
He is expected in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday, July 27, 2010 for a status hearing.

Nurse4u-The crime he is on bail for was committed in Ottawa, not Walworth county. He is living on another family farm while awaiting the trial for the murders of the two drug dealers he was storing drugs for on his family farm.
I feel for his family, nice people. One in every family.

I totally agree. WHY IS HE NOT IN JAIL? Very bad crimes and walking our streets. Going to bars and getting drunk. Boy, what is this world coming to? I am baffled!

I just read the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel article that was referred to in this story. There is plenty of evidence (including DNA) to predict a jury might find him guilty in a murder trial. I still can't figure out why he is running around free.

I agree 100 percent with Mickie here: What in the heck was this guy doing out of jail? Put him back in and get moving on this case.

Well, he was only charged July 2009. He wouldn't be in jail any longer than other people in that position.

If they had the evidence against him he would be. But its been 8 years. That'd be a long time to await trial in jail.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that maybe someone who possibly killed TWO people should ummmm maybe be in jail awaiting trial? I mean I get the whole presumed innocent thing, but this sounds really jacked up.
