— Local residents are rolling out the “green carpet” July 24 as they welcome visitors for Rotary Botanical Gardens’ 16th annual Home Garden Tour and Luncheon.

Seven residential gardens make up the tour, with the eighth stop at Rotary Gardens itself. A ticket for the garden tour includes free admission to Rotary Gardens for the day.

Mark Dwyer, Rotary Gardens director of horticulture, hopes about 1,000 people will take this year’s tour, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Last year’s tour drew about 660 people, Dwyer said.

Live music will be featured at homes on the tour.

Tickets for the tour are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the tour. They can be purchased at Rotary Gardens, K&W Greenery or any of the homes on the tour.

A special ticket also will be sold at Rotary Gardens for $25. That includes a catered lunch at the gardens on tour day.
