DELAVAN A memorial fun has been set up to help pay funeral expenses for a Delavan man killed Wednesday in a rollover crash.
Brandon P. Jeters, 19, Delavan, died when the pickup his friend was driving rolled over on private property in Richmond Township.
The Brandon Jeters Memorial Fund has set up at Community Bank, Delavan, according to Jeters' uncle, Robert Bach.
Bach said the family is still working out details for the time of the service and visitation.
The driver of the vehicle, Edward M. Meyer, 23, Delavan, appeared in Walworth County Circuit Court Thursday where he faces a charge of homicide by negligent use of a motor vehicle.
Another passenger of the pickup, Karly R. Kingston, 19, Whitewater, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, according to a Walworth County Sheriff's offices news release.
Carol Ardelean described Jeters, her son, as an “amazing guy.”
“He was a great son and a great brother. He adored his niece and nephew,” she said. “He had the best smile and sparkling blue eyes when he laughed. The way he said, ‘I love you, Mom,’ melted my heart every time.”
Ardelean said she recently moved to Kentucky but Jeters stayed in the Delavan area to work with his dad in an auto body repair shop.
Ardelean said the loss hit the family hard. She said she has been unemployed for more than a year and her ex-husband has been unemployed and suffered three strokes in the last year.
Jeters graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 2009.
Friends, family and other who knew Jeters have been sharing their memories on a Facebook tribue page.
