WALWORTH COUNTY -- Turnout has been mixed at Walworth County polling places today as residents cast their ballots for primaries in several key races.

Voting was steady in Elkhorn, according to poll workers, with more than 300 ballots cast by noon, including absentee ballots.

The pace was quieter at Lake Geneva City Hall, where voters will choose the two candidates to appear on the April 6 ballot for mayor.

Elkhorn and Delavan also have mayoral primaries, and three candidates are in the running to replace Circuit Court Judge Michael Gibbs, who is not seeking re-election.

Polls close at 8 p.m. Follow results at the Walworth County Clerk's Web site HERE.

Here’s a rundown of today’s primary elections in Walworth County:

-- Delavan mayor—Two Delavan City Council members are challenging incumbent Mayor Mel Nieuwenhuis. They are Ron Siedelmann and John Finley.

-- Elkhorn mayor—Voters will narrow the field of three candidates to two. The candidates are James Boardman Sr., Gary Payson Sr. and Howie Reynolds.

-- Town of Geneva: Three candidates are competing for one seat on the Geneva Town Board after incumbent Trish Fahey decided not to run. Voters will narrow the field to two. The candidates are Gene Decker, Larry K. Kulik and James Pody.

-- Lake Geneva mayor: Mayor Bill Chesen decided not to seek re-election. Voters will narrow the field of three to two. The candidates are Jim Connors, Scott Storms, and Alderman Frank Marsala, who also is seeking re-election to his 4th District seat.

-- Lake Geneva District 2 alderman: Four candidates are competing for a seat on the city council. Voters will narrow the field to two. Challenging incumbent Penny Roehrer are Barbara Hartke, Thomas Hartz and Alan Kupsik.

-- Walworth County Judge—Two of the four candidates—Mark Bromley, David Danz, Scott Letteney and David Reddy—will be eliminated.
