East Troy girls stay undefeated

East Troy High School’s girls basketball team heads into the holidays with a perfect record.


The visiting Trojans downed Wilmot, 47-33, in a nonconference game Thursday night to go 5-0 for the season.


Rachel Atchinson and Breanna Gasperich scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, to pace East Troy, which shares the Rock Valley North lead with Edgerton.


East Troy led by eight at halftime before pushing the margin to double digits early in the third as the Trojans droppped Wilmot to 3-5.

n Fort Atkinson 59, Lake Mills 40—Junior forward Maddie Bare scored eight of her team-high 16 points in the second quarter, when Fort Atkinson dominated 24-7 to take control en route to a nonconference victory.


Lake Mills (5-2) led 14-11 after the first quarter before Fort Atkinson (4-2) responded with its big run to take a 35-21 halftime lead.


Junior guard Lexie Weigand added 14 points and junior guard Amber Forester had 12 points for Fort Atkinson.


Senior forward Brianna Dunkleberger led Lake Mills with 13 points.
