December 22, 2010

Not even a slow start could derail UW-Whitewater’s men’s basketball team Tuesday night.

Cody Odegaard, Chirs Davis and Phil Negri had 14 points each to lead the cold-shooting Warhawks to a 71-56 nonconference win over Carrol College.

Neither team scored the first three minutes of the game before Davis broke the ice with a basket down low.

Whitewater (6-4) led 37-30 and pulled away early in the second half.

Davis, a Madison East graduate, had a game-high 10 rebounds. Negri finished with five assists, while the 14 points were a season-high for Odegaard.

The Warhawks are off until Dec. 30 when they host Hamline University in a nonconference game at the Kachel Gym in the Williams Center.
