East Troy man dead following head-on crash in Whitewater Township

— An East Troy man is dead and a Lake Geneva man is hospitalized after a crash Sunday on U.S. Highway 12 near Whitewater.

Police were called about 4:30 p.m. Dec. 19, 2010 to a two-vehicle crash on the Highway 12 bypass near Clover Valley Road in Whitewater Township.

According to a Walworth County Sheriff's Office news release, a 2003 Toyota SUV driven by Robert A. Zoeller, 22, Lake Geneva, was traveling east when he crossed the centerline and hit a 1995 Lincoln Continental driven by Adam L. Januszewski, 22, East Troy nearly head on.

Januszewski later died at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital.

Robert Zoeller wasn transported by Flight for Life to Froedert Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa. His condition is unknown according to the sheriff's office.

Zoeller's wife, Danielle, 23 was a passenger in the Toyota. She was treated and released from Fort Atkinson Hospital.

Timothy M. West, 30, was a passenger in the Lincoln and was treated and released from the Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office called out the Crash Investigation Unit to the scene and the road was shut down for approximately four hours.

This investigation is continuing and no charges have been referred to the DA's Office at this time.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the city of Whitewater Police Department, City of Whitewater Fire and Rescue, LaGrange Fire Department, and Flight For Life-Milwaukee.
