-- CREDIT CARD FRAUD, reported at 5:30 p.m. Monday. A Janesville man said an unknown person used his credit card to make $1,000 in unauthorized purchases online at Sears.
-- BURGLARY, reported at 4:45 p.m. Sunday at the 4200 block of Church Street, Janesville. Taken were a 42-inch Dynex LCD television valued at $400 and a desktop computer valued at $300.
Intoxicated Driving Arrests
-- ROSBEL I. VELEZ, 20, 10 1/2 Catlin St., Edgerton, at 9:30 p.m. Thursday after a one-car accident at Iva Drive and Maple Beach Road, Fulton Township. Velez also was cited for operating while suspended, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to report an accident, no insurance and underage drinking.
-- HIGHWAY 51 AND HIGHWAY 11, ROCK TOWNSHIP, at 3:12 a.m., Saturday. A car driven by Mitchell R. Garman, Jr., 31, 2031 Ravine St., Janesville, struck a traffic signal at the intersection of Highway 51 and Highway 11, knocking the signal down and into pieces. Garman was cited for OWI, reportedly his second offense, driving while revoked, hit and run, and driving too fast for conditions. He was treated for back pain at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville.
-- OVERHEATED ELECTRIC HEATER at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday at Hampton Inn, Janesville, 2400 Fulton St. A hallway electric heater overheated and started spewing smoke after its blower motor malfunctioned. No damage was reported. Around 40 guests were evacuated and took shelter at the neighboring Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, 2430 Fulton St., Janesville, for less than a half hour.
