Republicans hosting forum for 32nd assembly candidates

— The Walworth County Republican Party will host a forum Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 for candidates for the Republican nomination to the 32nd assembly seat.

The forum will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the Monte Carlo Room in Elkhorn (MAP).

Thomas Lothian, who currently holds the seat is retiring. Six Republicans are expected to attend the forum, according to Casey Himebauch, chairman of the Walworth County Republican Party.

They are:

-- Tyler August, 27, a Walworth native and chief of staff under Lothian.

-- John Finley, 58, of Delavan was a member of the city council from 2006 through 2010.

-- Adam Gibbs, 23, a Lyons Township native who as a college student worked as a legislative intern for a state representative.

-- Dan Necci, 30, an attorney who lives in Delavan and recently opened his own practice in Lake Geneva.

-- Mel Nieuwenhuis, 48, has been mayor of Delavan since 2002.

-- Thomas Stelling, 59, a Fontana native who now lives in Geneva Township. He is the primary stakeholder in an architectural firm in Burlington.

The primary is Sept. 14, 2010.
