Fatal accident causes delays on Harvard to Chicago commuter line

— Commuters taking Metra's Northwest Line from Harved to Chicago can expect delays this morning following a pedestrian accident north of Barrington.

Officials said said inbound train No. 606 struck and killed a man about 6 a.m. The train was scheduled to arrive downtown at 7:02 a.m.

The accident has caused delays and backups on the line throughout the morning.

Train No. 628, scheduled to arrive Chicago at 8:36 a.m., was filled to capacity and expressed directly to Chicago.

Train No. 628 is operating 30 minutes behind schedule due to earlier delays.

Train No. 634, scheduled to arrive Chicago at 8:55 a.m., is filled to capacity and will express to Chicago.
