DELAVAN TOWNSHIP -- Police have taken two men into custody following a shooting Thursday in Delavan Township.

Police responded at about 3:45 p.m. to reports of a man who had been shot near Bennett Street and Townline Road on the south side of Delavan Lake, according to Walworth County dispatch.

Officers spread out for a manhunt for two men. Search dogs were brought in to track the men, the town of Delavan patrolled the shore by boat and a helicopter searched by air.

The suspects fled by foot west around the lake.

One suspect was captured near Viewcrest Drive about 4:25 p.m. The second suspect was taken into custody about 5:25 p.m. near Ravenswood Drive.

The Town of Delavan Police Department is leading the investigation, and the City of Delavan Police Department and Walworth County Sheriff's Office are assisting in the search.

The shooting was at Bennett St and South Shore Drive, not Townline Road. WOW...talking about facts being straight.
