— Delavan's Jenny Scherer won the women's division of the inaugural Packers 5K Run at Lambeau Field on Saturday morning.

Scherer finished with a time of 17:37.

Pulaski’s Matt Mroczynski, a junior cross-country runner at Illinois State, finished first in 14 minutes, 54 seconds and 2,998 others followed him around the track inside Lambeau Field to the finish line.

Kandi Goltz, the Green Bay Packers' game and fan development manager, told the Green Bay Press Gazette that the Packers hoped to continue the run, which drew racers from 35 states, on the opening day of training camp next year.

Overall, there were 1,733 female finishers and 1,264 male finishers either running or walking with an average time of 35:51.
