— Police reported seizing $8,000 worth of Ecstasy in what they say is one of the largest drug busts in recent Clinton history.

"I'm not aware of any larger quantity of drugs, and this is the first Ecstasy we've had, period," Clinton Police Chief James Korth said.

At 9 p.m. Sunday, about 10 members of the Rock County Special Investigations Unit and Clinton police arrested three men on Church Street in Clinton.

About 800 pills of Ecstasy were seized, along with psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana.

Investigators think the mushrooms and marijuana were intended for personal use.

Arrested were:

-- Christian L. Cornellier, 18, of 705 Shu-Lar Lane, Clinton, on charges for possession of Ecstasy with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of psilocybin mushrooms.

-- Curtis M. Cornellier, 25, of 420 N. Jackson St., No. 5, Janesville, on charges of possession of Ecstasy with intent to deliver and a probation violation.

Cornellier was sentenced to probation in April on charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of an illegally obtained prescription and disorderly conduct.

-- Travis J. Finley, 25, of 1142 Richardson St., Janesville, on a charge of possession of Ecstasy with intent to deliver.

All addresses were taken from online court records.

The three men had just returned from the Detroit area, where police believe they bought the drugs, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff's Office.

The arrests were part of an investigation, but Korth declined to say how long it had been going on.

All three men are being held at the Rock County Jail and were scheduled to make their initial court appearances today.
