JANESVILLE — North American Hockey League Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld was in Janesville a week ago to watch the Jets take on the Michigan North Stars. He came away with how the Jets were able to pack the Janesville Ice Arena.

Bliss Communications' CSI Media, which publishes Walworth County Sunday and Weekender, sponsored a special shoot-out for fans at the game..

Those selected had a chance to shoot a puck into the net for a $100 Visa gift card during the second intermission of both games. Four fans also received Jets team apparel.

But ultimately, quality hockey is key to the success of the 19-team NAHL, Frankenfeld said. “The reality of it is the game is decided by what goes on inside the glass.”

The league is looking to expand and has approved applications from three teams, Frankenfeld added.
