JEFFERSON The Jefferson County Health Department has announced the first H1N1 influenza-related death of a Jefferson County resident.
Jefferson County Health Director Gail Scott did not reveal the deceased person's identity, age or place of residence, citing federal privacy laws and the request of the family.
Scott told the Jefferson County Daily Union that the decedent is an adult (age 18-64) with underlying health conditions that put that person at risk of complications from influenza.
The Walworth County Health Department will hold an H1N1 vaccination clinic today, Nov. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Williams Bay Junior/Senior High School, 500 W. Geneva St., Williams Bay.
Another clinic is schedule for Nov. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Whitewater High School, 534 S. Elizabeth St., Whitewater.
County health officials say they will provide vaccinations for pregnant women, people who live with or care for infants age 6 months or younger, health care and emergency medical services personnel, children age 6 months through 4 years, and children between the ages of 5 and 18 who have chronic medical conditions that put them at higher risk for flu-related complications. Others will be turned away, county officials said.
Kenosha County will hold its third H1N1 vaccination clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Job Center building, 8600 Sheridan Road.
The Flu Mist and injectable vaccines will be provided free of charge on a first-come first-served basis.
As with the previous clinics, the Division of Health is encouraging those who fall within the target groups to receive the vaccine at this time.

No, you are just curious. It does not change your health outlook one bit to know this or not. If you need to know how your underlying condition (like mine) affects your risk, there are already information sources available, without invading the privacy of this family. This study is the most comprehensive that I know about:

It would be nice to know what the underlying condition is. I have an underlying condition and am curious if these people who are dying have the same condition as I do. I realize we need to respect his/her privacy, but informing us of the underlying condition does not give us this person's identity.
