— A Navy pilot who died on a training mission in Texas will be honored next week at his funeral in East Troy.

The body of Lt. Bret Travis Miller, 30, was recovered a week ago after the plane he and Lt. John Joseph Houston of Houston were flying lost communication with the base tower while on a routine training mission in a T-34C Turbomentor.

Visitation is scheduled for Nov. 13 and funeral services on Nov. 14 at East Troy High School, 3128 Graydon Ave.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Wings Auditorium on Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, where Miller was based.

On a Web site set up in honor of the pilots, www.remembertherangers.com, Miller is remembered as a outstanding student and athlete while attending East Troy High School and role model for young people.

Miller has one son, and his wife Brianne is expecting their second child. He was the son of Rick and Judy Miller.

The search continues for Houston.

A Navy salvage vessel from Virginia is expected to arrive next week to help in the search.

A Navy Salvage Dive Team will continue its search effort until the vessel arrives.

Coast Guard and Navy recovery efforts changed Monday after the Coast Guard cutter Harry Claiborne had mechanical problems.

The ship was fixed and returned Tuesday morning to its homeport of Galveston, said Coast Guard Ensign Scott Kimball. The ship is not expected to return.

The salvage vessel from Virginia travels slowly and is not expected for a week, said
