Candidates begin lining up for spring mayoral races

— Only three Walworth County cities have mayors -- Delavan, Elkhorn and Lake Geneva -- but those races could provide plenty of fireworks in the spring election.

With the filing deadline a little over two weeks away, on Jan. 5, contested elections are already shaping up in Lake Geneva and Elkhorn.

In Elkhorn mayor, John Giese, has announced he won't run for re-election. but two former aldermen, Gary L. Payson Sr., and James M. Boardman Sr., have announced they will run for mayor.

In Lake Geneva, James Connors has taken out papers in a bid for the mayor's seat currently held by William Chesen
