— A benefit to help a family whose home was destroyed in a Thanksgiving evening fire has been organized for Saturday.

Multiple fire departments were called on to battle the blaze that destroyed the family home of David and Sheila Lewis in Darien Township, just northwest of Delavan.

The Lewis' children are students in the Delavan-Darien School District. Mitchell is a fourth grader at Turtle Creek Elementary School and Alexandra is an eighth grader at Phoenix Middle School.

The benefit is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Chalet at Geneva Ridge (formerly Interlaken Resort), W4240 Wisconsin Highway 50.

The cost is $10 at the door.

Dinner will be served, along with beverages, music, raffles and a silent auction. All proceeds raised will help the family rebuild from the fire.

Monetary donations will also be accepted at the event, or dropped off at any Walworth State Bank branch. Checks may be made payable to the David and Shelia Lewis Benefit Fund.

For questions, call Rob Sorensen at (262) 749-0000.
