Arrests

— JOSHUA A. KASTER, 23, of 21 S. Fremont St., Janesville, at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday at 1000 Mineral Point Ave., Janesville on charges of burglary, retail theft and trespass to land. He is accused of breaking into a relative's home Tuesday morning and stealing three cans of compressed air from Ace Hardware, 2720 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville, on Tuesday afternoon.

— SHEQUITA A. WILLIAMS, 24, of 309 Park Ave., Janesville, at 12:34 a.m. Wednesday at 408 S. Main St., Janesville, on a charge of obstructing/resisting officers causing substantial injury to a police officer. Officers were dispatched to the area south of Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main St., Janesville, for a disorderly conduct complaint. Police reports state Williams initially lied to on officer about her name and “began to escalate verbally.” When she gave police her real name, dispatch said she had two active warrants through the Beloit Police Department. Police say she refused to give up her purse and resisted officers. The struggle between her and Officer Matthew Schieve resulted in an injury to the officer's shoulder blade. He was treated at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville.

— BURGLARY to four storage lockers at We-Hows-It, 4747 E. Highway 11/14, town of La Prairie. Taken from one locker was lawn equipment valued at $1,750—a Farm & Fleet mower, two Honda trimmers, a wheelbarrow and a Husqvarna edger.  

— FRAUD/FORGERY, reported at 7:27 p.m. Tuesday by a town of Milton man who said someone used his credit card without his permission, charging a $4,994 purchase.

Accidents

— HIGHWAY 11 WEST OF BELOIT AVENUE, JANESVILLE, at 2:25 a.m. Saturday. A vehicle driven by Jammie L. Noonan, 29, of 2516 E. Racine St., No. 5, Janesville, was westbound when she said she tried to avoid a deer in the road, lost control and struck a fence. She told police she was going about 70 mph in a 55 zone. She was transported to St. Mary's Janesville Hospital and cited for failure to have control.

— SOUTH FRANKLIN STREET NORTH OF ROCKPORT ROAD, JANESVILLE, at 10:36 a.m. Sunday. A Janesville man said he was driving home when a bee entered his vehicle. He started swatting at it, his vehicle jumped the curb and struck a speed limit sign. A witness saw the man swatting at something in the vehicle just before the accident. The man refused medical treatment, but he was cited for operating while suspended/revoked and failure to have motor vehicle insurance.
