Arrests

-- DAVID D. HENDERSON, 24, of 127 N. Pine St., Janesville, at 4:59 a.m. Monday at his residence on charges of suffocation/strangulation and battery, both as incidents of domestic violence.

-- RICARDO MORENO JR., 31, of 1214 Milton Ave., Janesville, on charges of armed robbery, disorderly conduct by use of a weapon, false imprisonment and theft, at 5:07 p.m. Saturday at his residence. He is accused of having a knife and taking the victim's cellphone in an incident at his residence.

-- CHILD ABUSE, reported at 1:51 p.m. Friday at the emergency room at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where a mother had brought a 1-year-old with marks and bruises. A father in the town of Turtle is suspected. No arrest was made immediately.

-- ASPARAGUS INCIDENT, reported at 2:32 p.m. Friday, when a resident asked a woman what she was doing in the ditch along a road in the town of Johnstown. She was picking asparagus legally on public land, according to a sheriff's office report. The woman admitted she replied, "I don't have time to play childish games with old (expletive) men." She was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

-- VAN THEFT, reported at 12:07 a.m. Sunday at 5941 N. Lima Center Road in the town of Johnstown. Three teens, aged 14, 15 and 17, who were at a group home, took the home's van and drove to Madison, apparently intending to visit the mother of one of the teens. Madison police arrested them. All had been on juvenile probation in Dane County, which was holding them at the county's juvenile detention center.

--BURGLARY at Blackhawk Technical College, reported at 8:24 a.m. Sunday, when a damaged door was found open. Old equipment was stored inside, so nothing of value likely was stolen, according to a sheriff's office report. No entry was made to the rest of the building.

-- BURGLARY to a residence in the 900 block of Todd Drive, Janesville, reported at 5:46 p.m. Sunday. Taken was a decorative brass cannon with a 16-inch-long barrel valued at $80, a filet knife and 12 hand-painted wooden eggs.

-- BURGLARY to a residence in the 1100 block of Milton Avenue, Janesville, reported at 12:13 p.m. Sunday. A window was broken, and a dog that had been in a cage inside the house was missing. The Jack Russell terrier/Chihuahua mix is named Lojack.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- BRIAN J. WOODWORTH, 26, Brodhead, at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, May 4, in the 1100 block of West 5th Avenue, Brodhead. It is listed as his second arrest on intoxicated driving charges.
