Badger edges Parker in nonconference soccer match
The Lake Geneva Badger girls soccer team got a goal in each half to beat Janesville Parker in a nonconference match Tuesday night.
In a game postponed one day due to weather, the Vikings got a late goal from Tania Ramos but lost 2-1.
“We just can’t get over the hump,” Parker coach Steve Strieker said. “We’re doing a lot of good things and had good pressure tonight. But we gave up kind of a weak goal early on due to a miscommunication.
“If we would just shore up the little mistakes, we’ll come out in the win column a little more.”
Hailey Aranda scored in the 20th minute for Badger, and Alex Swarthout made it 2-0 five minutes into the second half.
Parker’s Becky Harmata made 12 saves.
The Vikings return to Big Eight action Thursday at Verona.
