Louise Rose (Dieter) Hookham, 91, daughter of Frank and Lena Dieter, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2014. Louise married Fredrick William Hookham Senior on May 3, 1947 and were some of the first do-it-yourself home builders after WWII. Louise and Fred worked together throughout their life to build not only their home but a strong family and farm. After selling their first home they moved to a farm in Bartlett IL in 1949 where their first six children were born. In 1960 Louise and Fred packed up their family and moved to their Bowers Lake farm in Wisconsin where their family continued to grow with three more children (nine total children). Not only did Fred and Louise have a large family but they also grew their farm into one of the largest pork producing farms in the state. Fred and Louise continued to work together to teach their children the rewards of teamwork, dedication, and commitment. Louise was an avid gardener, she also taught cooking and food preservation for more than 15 years with Milton 4-H. Louise helped run special Olympic bowling for over 30 years, and she volunteered many hours at Saint Mary’s in Milton. Louise also volunteered at Glen Oaks Schools in Janesville helping with her son, Joe’s classes. Rockhaven nursing home was also lucky to have her volunteer there. She felt her greatest accomplishment was raising her family.
