JANESVILLE—Four people were arrested and two were hurt after a bar fight just after midnight Friday, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

Police responded at 12:06 a.m. Friday to a report of a large disturbance at East Point Sportz Pub, 3501 E. Milwaukee St. Witnesses told police the fight started inside the bar but carried into the parking lot.

James C. Tracy, 30, of 1214 Cherry St., Janesville, fled from the scene in a vehicle, and a foot pursuit ensued when police stopped the vehicle, police reported.

Tracy then fell from an embankment in the greenbelt area in the 3400 block of East Milwaukee Street. He was taken for treatment of injuries to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, said Sgt. Aaron Ellis.

Tracy was an escapee from a halfway house on Cherry Street and was still wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet on his ankle, Ellis said.

“He had been missing for four days,” Ellis said.

Tracy was arrested on charges of resisting an officer, battery, disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer and on an outstanding warrant through the Department of Corrections.

Others arrested in the incident were:

-- Jeffrey P. Tuescher, 28, of 3631 W. Bass Creek Road, Beloit, on charges of battery, disorderly conduct, resisting an officer and obstructing an officer.

He also was injured and was taken to St. Mary's Janesville Hospital for treatment of minor cuts and scrapes, Ellis said.

Both Tracy and Tuescher will be taken to the Rock County Jail after being medically cleared, Ellis said.

Tuescher initially gave police and medical personnel a false name and address, officials said. The ruse was discovered when the real owner of that identity called in to report that he was not involved in the incident.

Officials later charged Tuescher with identity theft.

-- Christopher C. Winchester, 25, of Beloit, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

-- Jessy J. Bennett, 28, of Beloit, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Winchester and Bennett were released with court dates, Ellis said.

SUSPECT GAVE WRONG NAME, POLICE SAY

An earlier version of this article listed the wrong name for one of the people arrested in the incident, Janesville police said in a news release.

Jeffrey P. Tuescher, 28, of 3631 W. Bass Creek Road, Beloit, initially gave a false name during booking at the Rock County Jail, police said. He later was arrested on an identity theft charge.
