Beloit Snappers end seven-game skid
Designated hitter B.J. Boyd was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run to help the Beloit Snappers end a seven-game skid Thursday night.
Boyd hit a two-run home run in the third inning to give the Snappers the lead, and they beat the Lansing Lugnuts 7-2 in a Midwest League game at Pohlman Field.
First baseman Michael Soto also hit a two-run shot. His sixth-inning blast essentially put away the opening game of the series.
Beloit starter Kyle Finnegan allowed two runs on five hits and a pair of walks in seven innings to earn his first victory. He struck out four.
The two teams play again at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
