Supervisor, team leader workshops slated

ELKHORN--The next series of workshops for supervisors presented by the Walworth County Job Center will feature four Thursday afternoon sessions starting May 8, running from 2-4 p.m. 

All of the workshops will be held at the job center, located at 1000 E. Centralia St., Elkhorn, next to Gateway Technical College's main campus.

Participants may register for any or all of the sessions, but attendance is limited to three people from a company or organization for each session. To register or for more information, contact Rick Heine at (262) 741-5194 or  

May 8: Can't We All Just Get Along? (Effective Conflict Resolution)
Find the path to effective conflict resolution. Proven methods of solving problems that can happen in any workplace will be discussed and shared.   

May 15: The Changing Workplace
A discussion on today's new trends in the workplace that will help you take advantage of wisdom and experience as well as youthful energy. Discover how the workforce is changing and how to deal with the needs of older vs. younger employees--from the post-war generation to Gen Y--and get them to work together as a stronger team.

May 22: Introduction to Social Media
Almost everyone is taking advantage of social media on the Internet these days, and this workshop will examine social media basics and analyze how social media impacts search engine optimization. Learn three things companies can do to help customers find them on the Internet.

May 29: Teamwork
The ability for work groups to function as a cohesive, collaborative team is more crucial than ever for advancement and success. Find out how a team can work together more effectively to achieve their goals
