Janesville's Jordan Himley an NAHL star of the week
The NAHL selected Janesville Jets forward Jordan Himley as the North Division Star of the Week for the final week of the regular season. Himley, an Air Force recruit, scored four points (two goals, two assists) in three Janesville wins. Three of those came Friday night in a 5-3 Jets win over the Johnstown Tomahawks. The next night, Himley had the game-winning goal against the same opponent. He finished the season with 49 points in 59 games for Janesville.
“Jordan has been a go-to guy all season long and shows the leadership you want from a captain. He always seems to come up with a big goal that changes momentum. He is going to do well at the next level,” Jets head coach Joe Dibble said in a league news release.
Janesville, the third-place finishers in the NAHL North, opens its playoff schedule Friday in Flint, Mich., against the Michigan Warriors. After two road games, the Jets return home for Game 3 of the five-game series at 7 p.m. Friday, April 11. If the series isn’t over after that game, the Jets will also host Game 4 at the same time the next night.
