WHITEWATER--Attention all artists and craftspeople: Whitewater's Main Street Festival needs you.

The festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, is a joint venture among area organizations and businesses to promote the arts and the local economy.

Registration deadline for artists is Tuesday, April 1.

For more information, check out www.wwmsfestival.blogspot.com and then contact wmsfestival@gmail.com.

The festival is a juried-entry event.

Included in the festival will be hands-on activities for families, special events, and food booths featuring local restaurants.

In addition, visitors can stop by Studio 84 to paint and embellish their very own birdhouses that will be built by Whitewater Makerspace. For those interested in learning more about how to attract birds to our community, Urban Forestry will be on-hand at the festival as well.  Studio 84 will have a bird art exhibit at the same time.
Proceeds from the event go to support the local arts environment in our community. Funds will help support scholarships for local high school and college students, community art programing with a focus on the youth at risk after school programs and programing in the arts for people with disabilities. It will also help support creative improvements such as public murals, mosaics and sculptures.
