Janesville snow emergency starts at 6 a.m. Wednesday
JANESVILLE—The city of Janesville has declared a snow emergency starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
A snow emergency means all parked vehicles must be removed from city streets and public parking lots until plowing operations are complete.
To ensure that you don't receive a parking ticket, move your car before 6 a.m.
If you are unable to park your car in your driveway or your garage, use one of the following parking lots.
-- East Wall Street lot at East Wall Street and North Parker Drive.
-- Municipal building lot at West Wall and North Jackson streets.
-- South High Street lot at West Court and South High streets.
-- Senior Center lot at St. Lawrence Avenue and Water Street.
-- Hedberg Public Library lot on Water Street.
-- River/Union Street lot at South River and Union streets.
-- North Parker Drive parking ramp at North Parker Drive and East Wall Street.
Fines for parking on the streets during a snow emergency are $50. The police department may begin issuing tickets to violators before plowing operations begin.

The National Weather Service in Sullivan is predicting snowfall of between 2 and 4 inches starting Tuesday night.
