Boys hoops roundup: Milton loses at buzzer

Taylor Krocker spoiled Milton's regular-season finale Friday night.

The Portage High senior tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer to lift the Warriors to a 65-63 win in Badger Conference boys crossover game.

Milton (8-14) trailed 21-8 after one quarter but rallied and eventually tied the game late in the fourth.

Drew Johnson and Tyler Westrick had 17 points each to lead Milton, while Krocker had a game-high 29 for Portage.

Milton opens WIAA tournament play next Friday at Fort Atkinson in a Division 2 regional game.

Rock Valley

• Evansville 51, Palmyra-Eagle 40—Sophomore Kyle Rutkowski scored 19 points, and a hot first quarter carried the Blue Devils to an RVC crossover victory.

Evansville outscored host Palmyra-Eagle 16-8 in the opening quarter to set the tone.

Senior Josh Chenoweth added 12 points for the Blue Devils, who finished in third place in the RVC North at 9-7.

The Panthers finished fifth in the RVC South at 3-13.
