The Rock County Fury’s season came to an end on Friday night.

Amanda Holman scored late in the first period and early in the second to help carry Middleton to a 5-2 victory over the area’s girls co-op hockey team. It was the first round of the WIAA tournament.

“Middleton is a great team and we gave them all they could handle,” Fury coach Darrel Moore said. “I thought we played harder in the third period than we had all year. It shows what a wonderful group of young ladies we have.”

Karie Harrington’s goal at 5:59 of the second pulled Rock County to within 2-1, but Maegan Sheehan scored less than three minutes later as Middleton kept the Fury at bay.

Katie Maegli assisted on the first goal and scored the second for Rock County. Molly Gross made 36 saves.
