City of Janesville appoints Payne as city engineer
The city of Janesville appointed Mike Payne to the position of city engineer effective Feb. 3.
First hired by the city of Janesville in April 2000 as a project engineer, Payne was promoted to senior engineer, and then to assistant engineering manager. In December 2008 he was promoted to engineering manager.
Payne holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from UW-Platteville, is a registered Professional Engineer, a Wisconsin Certified Public Manager, and an Eagle Scout.
Additionally, he is a graduate of Janesville's Leadership Development Academy and has completed the LEAD program at the University of Virginia.
Payne is a member of the Janesville Noon Lions Club and serves on the Utilities and Right-Of-Way Committee for the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
