Gymnastics: Craig takes seventh in Mukwonago

The Janesville Craig gymnastics team took seventh place at the Nordy Invite in Mukwonago on Saturday.

Michelle Cagney finished 17th in the uneven bars and led Craig with a 12th-place all-around finish with 33.225 points.

Craig finished with a team score of 130.15. Franklin/Muskego/Oak Creek/Whitnall took the team championship with 149.35.

“Although it was not our highest point total, it was one of our best meets this year,” Craig coach Jean Welch said. “The girls all performed well today, particularly on beam.”

Sara Malmanger led the Cougars with an 8.65 on the beam and an 8.4 in floor exercise.

Sarah Holford was 20th in the vault with an 8.525.

The Cougars are back in action at the Big Eight Conference meet at Madison Memorial on Saturday.
