Boys basketball roundup: Neal leads Beloit Memorial to win

Beloit Memorial solidified its case for a top-two seed in its WIAA regional by beating Madison La Follette on Saturday night.

Purple Knights guard Draylen Fair scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter as Beloit came from behind for a 69-65 Big Eight Conference home victory.

The Knights trailed by two points after three quarters.

Beloit’s Andre Neal made 10 baskets to score a game-high 23 points, while Blake Farr added 15 more to move to 10-7 in league play.

La Follette got 21 points from Cortez McCree but fell to 7-10.

• Stoughton 51, Milton 35—The Red Hawks shot just 29 percent but were still within striking distance until the Vikings pulled away with free throws in the fourth quarter.

Stoughton went 11-for-14 from the stripe in the final eight minutes and got 15 points from Paul Rosowski.

Tyler Westrick scored 14 for Milton, which got the No. 3 seed in its Division 2 regional during a seeding meeting on Saturday. The Red Hawks open tournament play at Fort Atkinson on Feb. 28.

Elsewhere in that regional, Elkhorn hosts Delavan-Darien on Feb. 25, with the winner playing at top-seeded McFarland on the 28th.
