Warhawk men cruise to WIAC win

There was no letdown Saturday afternoon for UW-Whitewater’s men’s basketball team.

Fresh off Wednesday night’s upset win over No. 1 UW-Stevens Point, the Warhawks coasted to a 77-44 WIAC win over UW-Superior.

Whitewater (19-3, 10-3) held Superior to 34.8 percent (16-46) from the field and forced 19 turnovers.

Elkhorn High graduate Eric Bryson had a game-high 18 points for Whitewater, while Beloit Memorial graduate K.J. Evans chipped in 16 points and seven rebounds.

Whitewater raced out to a 17-3 lead to start the game and was never threatened after that.

The Warhawks host UW-La Crosse on Wednesday night.
