February means  a lead up to Oscar Night, outdoor winter sports and summer daydreams, so take your pick this weekend: See an Oscar-nominated movie in Elkhorn, go ice fishing in Whitewater or learn more about the beautiful and endangered Monarch butterfly in Eagle.

Kettle Moraine Chapter of Wild Ones presents program Feb. 8: All About Monarchs — Their Life and Migration, at 10 a.m., South Kettle Moraine State Forest Headquarters, S91W39091 Wisconsin Highway 59, Eagle. Open to the public. Larry and Emily Scheunemann, of Whitewater host monarch tagging events in the fall and will present the program. 
 
Chili Dinner and Auction, Feb. 9, at noon, at Good Shepherd Lutheran, 1936 Emery St., East Troy. Public is invited. Auctioneer Tom Kleist (999) will conduct the live auction at 12:45 p.m., plus there is a silent auction held prior to the live auction. Cook-off chili will be judged prior to the dinner and auction, and will be sold by the bowl with all the “fixin's” for a freewill donation.
