Newly certified instructors part of growing demand at S.M.I.L.E.S.
Four registered riding instructors for Special Methods in Learning Equine Skills facility in Darien recently completed a four-day Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship workshop that included a riding test and the ability to teach test components as part of the certification process.
According to a news release from the organization, S.M.I.L.E.S. has seen a significant increase in demand for their programming and classes, having added over 50 new clients to their participant list in 2013. Gay Stran, executive director of the organization, welcomed the newly certified instructors.
“S.M.I.L.E.S. is fortunate to have these women joining us in the arena, and our clients are fortunate to have them as instructors. They are skilled and dedicated professionals who will assist our clients with special needs to improve their lives and living skills through equine assisted activities and therapies.”
S.M.I.L.E.S. provides the benefits of therapeutic riding and equine assisted activities to people of all ages who have special needs.
S.M.I.L.E.S. is accredited through PATH International as a Premier Center..
