Eighth drunken driving suspected
JANESVILLE—Leon D. Guenther was being held at the Rock County Jail after being arrested on a charge of eighth-offense drunken driving Friday night.
According to a Janesville Police Department news release, officers responded to a report of a reckless driver at 5:35 p.m. Friday on the city's south side. When they located the suspect vehicle in the 2100 block of South Walnut Street, the driver made a U-turn in front of his home and got stuck in a snow bank.
Officers could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana from inside the vehicle.
Guenther, 52, Janesville, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on the OWI charge. He also was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
