Southern Lakes boys hoops: Delavan-Darien, Elkhorn fall

Burlington’s Ben Geiger and Delavan-Darien’s Jesse Collins matched shot for shot, but the Demons’ supporting cast was enough to pull out a victory in a Southern Lakes Conference boys basketball game Thursday night at Delavan.

Collins actually outscored Geiger, 28-24, in a duel between participants in a college-exposure league last summer, but the Demons pounded out an 82-55 victory.

Geiger and Collins each had six 3-point goals, and the teams combined for 19 treys.

Isiah Ramos added 10 for the Comets.

• Wilmot 65, Elkhorn 41—The visiting Panthers raced out to a 21-point halftime lead and coasted from there.

Brandon Schattner and Nate Hensel combined for 35 points for Wilmot (8-3, 3-1).

Elkhorn fell to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference with the loss.
