Evansville/Albany displayed its wrestling skills by sweeping five dual matches to earn the championship of the Evansville Holiday Dual Tournament on Saturday.

Four Blue Devils earned weight-class title by going undefeated. Brandon Robinson (120), Jordan Meyer (132), Hayden Milz (145) and Lucius Rinehart (195) each collect five victories.

Brodhead/Juda completed the Rock Valley Conference statement by finishing second, losing only to Evansville/Albany, 45-22, in the fifth round.

Janesville Craig went 3-2, losing to both Evansville/Albany (43-24) and Brodhead/Juda (42-36).

“We that going in both of the schools were good,” Craig coach Mark Mullen said. “Evansville is well-coached and has some good athletes.”

Craig, which was without Zach Mulrooney who was ill, did defeat Janesville Parker, 61-14.

The Cougars’ Arik Furseth (106), Nate Farrell (113) and Anthony Skrede (138) each finished undefeated in the tournament.

“We came out a little sluggish after the holiday,” Mullen said. “It was not quite up to our expectations.”

Parker finished fourth with a 2-3 record.

Parker coach Danny Jackson singled out Dylan Siener, Gage Burdick and Stephen Presti for their showings.

Craig will host the Craig Invitational next Saturday.
