H.S. girls basketball: Badger wins at Westosha

Maria Mieres-Rey and Lily Quinn combined for 35 points to help Badger build a double-digit lead in the second quarter, and the Badgers coasted to a 57-32 Southern Lakes victory over Westosha Central on Tuesday night.

Mieres-Rey made eight baskets, including a pair of 3-pointers, to score a game-high 18 points. Quinn added 17 as Badger improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in conference.

Madi Stanczak led Westosha with a dozen points.

• Burlington 49, Elkhorn 41—The Demons outscored the Elks 14-4 in the decisive third quarter to escape with an SLC home victory.

Senior Erin Schahczinski led Elkhorn—which fell to 2-3 and 1-2—with 13 points.

Ellen Stang had a game-high 15 for Burlington.

Edgerton built a 14-point lead by halftime, and then held on the road.

Kellan Schmidt added 11 points for Edgerton, which improved to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in conference.
