Edgewood knocks off Milton

Alex Wendler scored 16 points and Edgewood outscored host Milton 13-2 in the second quarter en route to a 54-39 Badger Conference boys basketball victory Friday night.

The Crusaders’ big quarter led to a 22-12 halftime advantage. Edgewood used free throws to pull away in the fourth quarter.

Noah Johnson had 15 points, while Drew Johnson added 11 for the Red Hawks (1-1 in the Badger and 3-4 overall).

• Monona Grove 60, Monroe 46—Mark Nelson scored a season-high 28 points to lead Monona Grove (3-0, 5-0) past visiting Monroe.

Nate Hepp added 17 points as the Silver Eagles were safely ahead most of the game.

Kevin Noreiga and Charles Kind each had nine for the Cheesemakers.
