Elkhorn is headed to the postseason for the first time since 2008.

Arik Anderson threw two touchdown passes, kicked a field goal and booted three extra points to lead the Elks to a 24-6 home victory over Burlington on Friday night.

Elkhorn clinched a playoff berth by finishing 4-3 in the Southern Lakes and is 5-4 overall.

“It's a big win, absolutely; the kids are excited,” Elkhorn coach Tom Lee said. “We haven't made the playoffs since I've been head football coach, so it's a new experience and we're excited.

“I told them that Burlington wasn't going to be an easy matchup. But I said if we play as well as we're capable of playing, we're going to win. And they just played solid football.”

Anderson was 8 of 13 for 93 yards and threw touchdown tosses to Samuel Kemp and Keenan Leahy. Leahy also ran for a score from 16 yards out.

Elkhorn's defense continued its impressive effort this season. Burlington gained just 156 total yards of offense, including 28 on the ground on 24 carries.
