Brodhead/Juda probably would have loved to have Friday’s Rock Valley Conference crossover game count in their league record.

The Cardinals produced a sensational defensive effort, shutting out host Jefferson, 6-0.

Brodhead/Juda improved to 6-1 on the season, but the game does not count on the Cardinals’ 3-0 RVC South mark.

The Eagles fall to 3-2 in the RVC North and 5-2 overall.

Brodhead/Juda held Jefferson’s star back Garrett Blaeske to a season-low 48 yards rushing. Jefferson gained 152 total yards.

The game’s lone score came when the Cardinals’ Derek Turner ran in from a yard out with 1:47 left in the first half. The short run capped a 17-play, 66-yard drive. Turner finished with 59 yards rushing.

Two other Brodhead/Juda drives ended inside the Jefferson 20 on lost fumbles.
