MADISON—A Delavan man accused of robbing more than a dozen pharmacies around Wisconsin this spring was sentenced to two years in prison at a hearing in federal court Thursday.

Tony D. Taylor, 36, W7566 Iroquois Trail, Delavan, was arrested in April after he tried to rob a pharmacy in DeForest for painkillers to feed his addiction to the drugs, authorities said.

Federal prosecutors charged Taylor with nine counts of robbery to a pharmacy.

He pleaded guilty to one count as part of an agreement that saw the others dismissed but considered at a sentencing hearing Thursday afternoon at U.S. District Court in Madison.

Judge William Conley sentenced Taylor to 24 months in prison, well below what federal sentencing guidelines recommend.

Taylor has also been charged with committing five additional robberies in Rock County Court, although those charges have been on hold as the federal case unfolded.
