WAUKESHA--The UW-Rock County soccer team lost a tough match Tuesday night at UW-Waukesha.

A back-and-forth battle ended when Brad Jakober scored a goal to give Waukesha a 4-3 victory in overtime.

Rattlers keeper Kyle Williams appeared to be securing the ball, but had it knocked away by Jakober in a controversial call. The goal was scored in the 92nd minute.

It ended a game that saw each team lead at different stages. UW-Rock grabbed 1-0 and 2-1 leads in the first half, but it was 2-2 at halftime.

“We made a movement in personnel and it really opened up our creativity,” Rattlers coach Grant McNall said. “We had a better flow to our game. Other than the score, it’s one of the better games we’ve played.”

Waukesha got a goal right away out of the halftime break, but Tyler Meinders sent the game to overtime with a goal in the 78th minute.

The Rattlers are now 3-2. They host UW-Fond du Lac on Monday.
