JANESVILLE—Authorities arrested a man they believe robbed a Walgreens for prescription medication Tuesday just as he was planning to rob the same store a second time early Wednesday, police said.

A Janesville police officer spotted Kyler K. Willing, 26, of 147 N. Emerald Grove Road, Janesville, sitting in a car around 1 a.m. Wednesday near the Milton Avenue Walgreens that was robbed the morning before, authorities said.

Willing had painted his face in camouflage and had a loaded shotgun tucked into his pants, according to the release.

Janesville police Lt. Keith Lawver said Willing confessed he held up the Walgreens Tuesday night while showing a gun, then stole prescription drugs. Willing told police he's addicted to narcotics, and said he'd planned rob the same Walgreens again early Wednesday to get more prescription drugs, Lawver said.

Lawver said it's odd Willing would have tried to rob the same business only hours later.

"It's definitely not common that someone would go and hit the same place two days in a row," Lawver said.

Willing was being held on tentative charges of robbery, attempted robbery, theft and carrying a concealed weapon, according to the release. He is expected for an initial appearance in court Thursday.

Authorities also arrested a passenger in Willing's car, 54-year-old Mark O. Barlass, 7722 County A, Janesville, on drug possession charges.
