Locally-grown vegetables available for schools

A major distributor is making available blends of locally grown vegetables to producers and food service buyers at schools and other organizations around Wisconsin, according to a release from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.

The blends are available for pre-order, on a first-come, first-serve basis. They include:

Harvest Medley: A fresh, locally grown root vegetable blend of carrots, sweet potatoes, and parsnips—peeled, ½ inch cubed and ready to roast and serve. Can be seasoned  as desired or  added to soups or other recipes.

Potato Fusion: A blend of three different popular Wisconsin potatoes (red, white and yellow) with skins on. This blend comes frozen, diced and ready to season and roast, and can be used for breakfast potatoes, in soups, salads, and many other recipes. (Pre-order here from the Fifth Season Cooperative.) 

Winter Moon Blend: This super colorful blend includes carrots, beets, butternut squash and potato. Vegetable are peeled, diced and frozen ready to season to your preference and roast, or add to other recipes as desired. (Pre-order here from the Fifth Season Cooperative.)
All blends are packed in 20# cases.

All vegetables are in equal proportions in each blend.
