Snappers win streak ends

BELOIT-The Beloit Snappers had their four-game winning streak snapped Wednesday night.

Three Burlington pitchers limited Beloit to four hits in a 2-1 Midwest League win at Pohlman Field.

Beloit cut a 2-0 deficit in half the sixth on Ryan Mathews' 14th home run of the season but could generate zero offense after that.

Deyvi Jimenez (2-5) took the loss despite allowing only two earned runs in six innings.

Game two of the four-game series is tonight.
